A few weeks ago Julie, Manti, and the boys came over to visit--we ended up going to Baguashan...I had been wanting to go for awhile, so I was excited to hear they wanted to take us. Baguashan is a park in Changhua that is famous for its Big Buddha statue! The statue sits on the very top of the mountain and looks out over the city. At night, red beams of light shoot out from the Buddha's eyes....ooooh, scary! We had a good time....here are some pics from our excursion.
The beautiful, Changhua...pollution and all.
On our way....
The big Buddha!
The gang....Julie, Hanna, me, Sam, Sean, and Manti
Embracing the culture.
In front of the Buddhist Monastery!
Me and Hanna May....puttin out the vibe!
Sweet Stat.
A little squid action! Tastes like jerky....with a touch of salt.
Eggs, eggs...
....and more eggs! I have yet to try these tasty treats!
Near the monastery....not quite sure what this tower is used for....
There are two large lion statues....they guard the big Buddha
Just messin' around.
Good times!
